Year 8 Camp

So this year it was pretty boring but then I forgot that it was year 8 camp then I thought this year would be cool nope Camp was boring I actually wanted to go back to school. Some bits of camps were cool like archery and the food there was yum and yea.

The people in my cabin where Ane.Gianna.Sarona,Martha,Sisila,Porscha,Hope and zAnnliz.It was really crowed in our room. When we got there it look fun there was a funny water slide and there was a flying fox.

The first activity we did was anything was just got kick back and do anything it was cool because it was raining but then it went sunny as . Then when it got to night time we got to play spot light or something like that . It was kinda like go home stay home.

Then we Got in our beds and went to sleep well we tried to go sleep but we were talking a lot.”Sarona” thats what i heard it woke me and everyone else up because martha was being a loud mouth haha but lucky because then i got to get up and get change and not look tired when we go to the hall.

Then we all got called up to go to the hall and talk about what were doing today and today we my group is go to a surfing place I forgot the name. But it was a little bit boring but we managed to survive. And then we got to swim but it was raining it was really cold.

Then after we got back to camp I just went in the cabin and just relaxed in there. Then we Started getting ready for Dinner. After dinner we all got to watch a movie it was called the big bang it was crack up.

Then a another day of camp camp was pretty cool. Well the next day we got to do lots of activity like archery it was cool because i got it on the dot. Then titan gave me 2 dollars. Then we all had some food.

Then at night time all the groups had to make up a song and when we go to the fire we all have to sing our songs i was in north beach. We sang Magic RuDE. Then we all went off to bed.

So the next day we got to go to pools For our last day at camp. It was I went on all the slides.With my friends.Then we went on the bus then went back home and this is my day at camp.

Handsketball

It’s the weekends then next weekends its the holidays this term has gone really fast like really fast. Anyways what I did for the weekends is totally nothing it was boring as. until my neighbor came over with there puppy. Its eyes were blueish grey and its colour fur was light brown and it was as tiny as hat it was so cute.

Then this little girl came over her name was bailee she was coming over to play with my brother marius. Also my step dad was pretty excited to see his sister he hasn't seen her for like 14 or 16 years. So when she came over he was pretty happy . Then we had got a call from his mum she lives in Aussie then we heard that she was in auckland hospital.

Then we all went there and on the way there I was singing stan walkers song Aotearoa  Then all I  could hear  is my mum saying shut up!!!! Then there was silence . Then we finally got there then I saw some hood rats there hahaha and I knew them . Then we went in and the only reason she was in there because she wanted to be in there.

Cross Country 2014

Its cross country yaaay. The day that most people hate or most people wag because they dont want to run.Well today I decided that i'm going to go and have fun and try my best. When I went lots of people made the same decision as me.

Arinnnngg!!! The bell had rung it was time for cross country everyone raced to the court and went into there team lines. As I was looking around I could see by everyones face that they were pretty nervous or rather really excited.

It was a nice sunny day today and I was getting really hot I didnt no if it was because it was because it was getting close to my turn to go or because the concrete was getting really hot.

Then all you see is that me and sarona get up and go to the taps to wet our feet. We also had a little water fight Okay Okay I mean a lot. Then miss nua took the year 7 and 8s to the bottom field so we can cheer the people that go past.

Watching people run past was making me want to run with them i just really wanted to get it over and done with.Then it was mine teams turn we were the last race. The snap Mr burt snap his thing then I raced to the front then I went back to run with ane and sarona.

Then most of the run we were laughing were we looking forward to going in the mud but there was no mud.But the good thing is that we had fun and we did then at the end we came a tie.

Revolution

Yesterday after to lunch all the seniors had our opportunity to watch a show. We had no idea what it was about or who was gonna perform for us. The people that were performing for us were called the revolution they go all around the world and tell people to stop the bull.

The first thing they did was that they would go around the room and someone will choose someone. Then that person would have to stand up and go crazy like you’ve never been before. They first chose Tj but he didn't dance then they chose brent but at less he stood up.

Then they had us chose who should go up and dance we pick Mr Barks but they called him Mr B . Then as soon as they said can you pick a female teacher to come up now then everyone turned back and yell Miss Paget they went up to her but she was walking away she didn't want to do that she almost lift the room.

But then Semi got up and said he would do it. So then Mr Barks I mean Mr B and Semi had to dance crazy. The song that they were dancing to was harlem shake. Mr B was dancing in the start but Semi was waiting for the main bit of the song came on.

Then Boom! He starting doing the cook island dance thingy then He mixed it up with some twerking. It was funny as but they said they came here to tell us a story.That story was about a boy his first day as year 9 at school and he decided to wear a pink top when he got there everyone starting pointing and laughing then push on the ground and said never wear that top to school. But then two boys help him up and said wear that top to school tomorrow.

They started to ring everyone they know at school and told them to wear a pink top to school they said its pink t-shirt day.Then everyone that he knew at school was wearing a pink top. So then those boys that were picking on him must know how it feels not to fit in. Or get bullied.

They said Help us stop the bullying .There sign is a hashtag how to do it is by doing to peace signs and put them together and it makes and hashtag .Then they told to huddle in and then we all did the hashtag and took a photo.  

Then someone came on stage sorry forgot her name but then she sang variera she was really good at singing. Then it was time to go after the show everyone went to the people and started taking loads of selfies. They posted them all of facebook well some well this is my story about the REVOLUTION.

Banning plastic bags

Dear John Key

*Plastic bags and rubbish have been floating across our ocean for over years they are Killing sea creatures and birds as we known what I’m trying to say is that we should ban plastic bags. Because then our water will be more clean and it wouldn't harm any sea creatures.

*Most sea lions or other sea creatures have choked on or been choked by plastic bags because of them floating around in the ocean.China is a country of 1.3 billion people and in the water there a 3 billion plastic bags daily, according to China Trade News. About 1 million plastic bags are used every minute.

*In the United states of america they selling Plastic bags for 1 dollar so then people would want to buy not that much plastic bags then there would be that much plastic bags in the water so there kind of doing something about it .

*New zealand is known as a green country so we should make that statement true by clean the water in the ocean and getting rid of plastic bags or trying to make people use less plastic bags

*Why is taking care of your mind and body so important. Well taking care of your body means eating the right foods and drinking water everyday. The reason why we do that is to keep our body well and healthy. But what about our mind?

*To take care of your mind is to not do drugs or things like that because if you do, do that it affects your brain then you could get a brain tumor. Brain tumor is like cancer in your brain. Thats one of the reason to take care of your brain.

*The reason why taking care of our body is so important is so that we can live a long and healthy life. Lucky scientist and doctors have found a qua to make our sickness to go away if they didn't then how knows what would've happen.

*How to take care of our mind and body? To take care of your body is to eat the healthy foods it doesn't mean you can't eat drunk food it means just not a lot all the time. In the life ed caravan Lyn showed us a chart of the foods we should mostly eat and the foods that we should eat just sometimes.

*If your body is unhealthy it’s good to drink some water and eat fruits and vegetables.

Life Education Caravan

Lyn, Lyn is a lady that goes to lots of school and teaches then about our and other things.What we learned about is Drug and Alcohol and how it affects our body. Len showed us picture of people and what they look like when there drunk.

She showed us a picture of a boy named James, James was a teen ager he was a good boy and then he wanted to go to a party and some drinks just because his friends were. He was falling over and making a fool of his self. Well he was doing that his friend were just laughing at him.

So they thought they could give him more beer so he could be more funny. Then James went for a nap and his were asking where he was but they he was sleeping his alright. Then the next morning they went to go see if he was alright but then he was gone that day James was dead.

Then lyn showed us a video of people and them telling us that they wish that they could restart there life so that teaches us also not to drink when were older or you can not drink that much beers and vodka.

Those people a now looking for jobs or at less most of them but some of them Don't because of there history and what I mean by that is that the things they did bad still carries on its like what we learn at school thats why we have to leave a positive footprint online and offline.

Lyn has been at our school for 4 weekends this year and I have learned a lot from those 4 weeks. So thank you Len for teaching our school about our body and how to keep it healthy.

Africa

Africa, Africa is located in the south of europe and Asia. There population is 1.111 billion people that means how many people live there.

There most popular sports there a Football,rugby and cricket They also do a little bit of running there and what does there flag colours mean?

We'll Red is for bloodshed.  Blue stands for the open blue skies.  Green stands for the land.  Black for the black people.  White stands for the European people.  Yellow is for the natural resources that a gold.

Africa people can speak lots of languages like arabic, Somali, Berber, Amharic, Oromo, Swahili, Hausa, Igbo, Fulani and Yoruba and some can even speak English.

Holidays 2014 term 3

It was a monday morning and for the first time I got to sleep in without anyone telling me to get up. Then I had open up the curtains then I was blinded by the sun as it was shining up in the sky. It was a perfect day but then i looked up at the sky and saw that there were grey clouds coming so it might not be a perfect day.

Then my mum had came into my room and told me to get ready to go to my Auntys house to see my cousins Brooklyn and Orlando. We all had got ready and heading off to my Auntys house.

When we got here we all had some cupcakes and half a cake . Then our friend Starr came over then all of a sudden our friend Neanea came.Then there were lots of people here.

We played lots of games and we all went to the shop to get some lollies and food for our movie and also my aunty Hayley was playing on the dj set on the table shes really good at it. When we had got back from the shop we put on the movie and we watch this really really scary movie I forgot what its called.

Then a few days later It was my birthday. For my birthday we went to rainbow end its was awesome my favourite ride was the powerserge and the log ride. My mum watch the show but the show was cool with those dj’s and that.

Then the next day me and my family went out to dennys.

Echolocation

What is Echolocation?

Echolocation is an echo that bounces off an object when you make a sound. Then you would be able to know what that object is by hearing. Here’s an example of the way that dolphins use echolocation. They use it by doing clicking sounds underneath water. That sound bounces off that object and comes back to them so they can know if there is any prey or friends.

Ben underwood is a young man that had cancer in his eyes. His vision was gone when he was about 3 years old. Ben would go outside and play freely. The way he does that is by doing clicking sounds with his mouth that echos to the object and comes back to him like a dolphins . So Ben is able to see without any vision but by hearing.

Echolocation is a very cool skill to pick up but not easy to pick up thats why Ben Underwood was a really smart boy. He was able to pick up a skill that most people have found hard to learn. Most people don’t even know what echolocation means.

Autumn

So this morning was like any other morning got ready for school had breakfast. Then as soon as  I open the door freezing cold wind blew onto my face. As I saw leaves coming off the tree branches I just figured that it must be Autumn.

Running to school as my fingers were ice cold I was thinking when is this autumn going to go away and when I thought it couldn't get any worse I felt something drip onto my face. Then it started pouring down rain then that just made it worse because now I was freezing.

When I finally got to school I felt the warmness as walked into my class room and hands already warming up.

Pools

In the weekends I went to the pools with my friends Gianna,mele,martha,ane,lizara,efilona and Sarona we went there because we thought it would be fun for all of us to go to pools. When we got there all us jumped into the pool screaming like we could do anything without anyone yelling at us but then the lifeguard did.

Then we were having a race and playing relays.We were playing lots of games and taking selfies and we were fighting play fighting tho. We all stayed there until dark time then some of us stayed at marthas

Technology

So every Thursday classes  1,2 and 4 go to tamaki college for technology at tech we learn how to draw cook and build things. The teachers names There is Miss Heka shes the food tech teacher and Mr Grundy the Hard material teacher and Mr Noble the graphic teacher.

The group I am in now is food Miss Heka class she is really nice and funny.When we get to tech the first things we need to do is line up. Then when miss Heka comes we go inside then we wash our hands then put our aprons on.

Then she will tell us what ingredients we'll need then we will go grab them and put them on our bench.Then we will start cooking.We make all sorts of things like pizza tacos and lots of yummy things thats why I like go tech.

Smart Footprint

Working online was a big deal for me imagine all of those pencils paper erasers and rulers all of those things into my netbook. But to have a netbook you would have to be cyber smart.

Being cyber smart means to stay safe online so watch out what post. Also look out for dodge things and if you download anything make sure to ask someone if you download something it could lead lots of spams that pop out on to your screen.

Spams a things that come up on to your screen like if you click on something you're supposed to be on a link will come up with a dodge site. So be cyber smart.

When you a online and search up something you a leaving a digital footprint. Everything you do online is recorded.

How to post your writing on your blog

First you will need to log in to your account.Then you go onto your drive and on the top right there will be a little box thing with little.squares in it. Then click it. When its opens up click the button below that says more then click blogger.Once you click that it will open to your blogger dashboard.On there you will see a orange box with a pencil in it.Once you click that you can copy and paste your into the and up top you put your title in.On the top right when your finish your work click publish.Then it will come up with this page. Then when you see your writing you click view to view it on your blog. Then its on your blog if you want to post again go onto the top right and click new post.

Explanation of Homemade Instrument

Task: Create instructions on how you will make your instrument including the materials needed, step by step instructions on what to do, and explanation as to how the sound is made.

This doc is a really rough outline for setting out your writing. You should use images and even video where appropriate.

Materials Needed:

Instructions for Homemade Instrument:

1. first you will need 5 straws
2. then cut them shorter and shorter on each one
3. then tape them all together
4. then blow through it
5. then sound comes out

Main reason:when blow through the straw it makes a funny sound

Second reason:because it is hollow in side

Third reason:then the sound travel through the straw

Fourth reason:Then sound comes out from the bottom

Conclusion:when you blow through the straw it makes sound

Science Roadshow

On friday classes 2 and 5 had a opportunity to go to the science roadshow at tamaki college.

We had to get to school before 8:30 so we can go there early. We all had to pay 8 dollars. When we got to school the teachers mark the roll then we all lined up outside. Then we all headed off to tamaki college by feet.

When we finally got there,There was this tall really really really tall man at the door he was telling us about it and what kind of things that were in there. Then he told us to head in side line by line.

As we were walking inside there were lots of in there. We all sat on the chairs that were inside. There 3 people in front of us. They were telling us some interesting thing and what will happen. Then all told us to have a look around and and found out how it works.

When we were having a good look around we all had a little card and we all had to figure out what thing where and how they work. When you finish everything on that card you will have write your name on it and put it in the box so you can win a prize.

Then we all got called back. Then they were announcing who the winners were and the two winners were martha and sonny and they won a pen.

Then they were as a balloon and they were blowing it up with some kind gas and we all had to block because it was that loud but the teachers were ear gear thingys.Then we all went back to school.

Chloe Guitar

The guitar is one of the most popular instruments to play. A guitar makes beautiful harmonies.

The guitar is shaped like a pear and it has six strings. When you strum a guitar it makes a funny sound. The guitar is made of wood metal and all sorts of thing the strings on the guitar is made out of metal wire. On the guitar there is its neck,tuning keys ,Bridge, sound hole and strings.

But how does a guitar make sound? A guitar is like a box and when you strum the strings inside the box it echos. Then it makes sound and that is how a guitar makes sound. The guitar is shaped the way it is so that the sound can go louder. Thats why it’s hollow inside. If it wasn't hollow inside, the sound wouldn't come out clearer than it does.

If you would want to play the guitar you would need to know some chords and you would need a pick so you can strum the guitar.

First hold a flat piece of paper against you're ear.

Step 2 -

Let you're partner speak into it.

Step 3 -

Fold you're piece of paper like a cone.

Step 4 -

Then put your  tissue in and see what it would sound like.

Step 5 -

Then test everyone in you're classroom to see what they would sound like too.

6	rolled up piece of paper (facing to the side)	Well it doesn't make a difference when my friend talk’s it sound’s the same. It also vibrates into  your my ear.

Observations:

Flat Piece of paper did not make any difference. Funnel facing to the front sound the same.Funnel facing to the side was defferent than before. it was louder than before. Cotton ball funnel sounded defferent because it sounded like there was a little baby speaking to me when they they were talking in it. Rolled up piece of paper doesn't make a difference when my friend talk’s it sound’s the same. It also vibrates into  your my ear.

Conclusion:

My hypothesiswas wrong because it did echo and it did make the right sounds we wanted to hear. When your partner talks to you through it would sound louder and you would hear them clearly.
